The exceptional nature of the archaeological site, discovered between 2010 and 2013, during the construction of the Città del Sole complex, has aroused great interest due to its extensive and well-preserved ancient remains, spanning a vast chronological span: from prehistoric times, followed by various phases of the Republican and Imperial eras, up to the last settlements in the area in the 19th century, a period whose existence had previously been unrecorded.
The Antiquarium project aims to create a tour route for small groups, adaptable to the area’s narrative and the various levels of depth possible for the guided tour.
The enhancement of the artifacts uncovered during the excavations and their display complete the narrative theme of the visit. Inside the Antiquarium, the solid wall will be structured according to the existing architectural structures, to accommodate display cases whose size will be calibrated for the ancient artifacts on display. The succession of display cases marks the visitor’s path through time and place.
